Hi, I’m Marlie.
I am an intuitive healer with a genuine desire to facilitate healing for the mind and body. As a licensed social worker and psychotherapist, I help individuals understand how our thoughts and emotions often speak through the body. More about me.

The intention is to help create positive changes in our life by establishing a healthy relationship with our mind and body.
What works for one person may not work for another. Moving with Intention was created to empower and inspire individuality through movement.
My Practice
Here are the tools that are the basis of my practice:
Breathwork
Intentional breathwork has been known to help reduce stress, anxiety, and the hyperactive mind. Creating a stronger connection to your breath will help improve your body awareness, specifically while experiencing emotional distress. Enhancing breath control has the power to calm your nervous system and enhance focus.
Grounding
Grounding exercises can be utilized anywhere at any time. They are especially useful for individuals who experience flashbacks of traumatic events by creating a deeper awareness of your present moment, as well as hyperactive children with difficulty focusing. Connecting with your senses offers the ability to mindfully move throughout your day with a goal of redirecting your thoughts and focus.

Evidence-Based Practice
The root of my therapeutic approach and education is through a clinical lens derived from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), motivational interviewing (MI), play therapy and the empowerment model. Utilizing these frameworks in my clinical practice has allowed a deeper understanding of the symptoms and behaviors being treated. The use of these modalities show significant results in therapy, however, incorporating alternative holistic approaches allow for deeper connection among the mind, body, and spirit.
Somatic and Energy Healing
Understanding how stress, trauma, or difficult times have disrupted the nervous system through using mindfulness practice. The felt sense or sensations our body experiences holds on to our emotional memories that can be stored in the body for many years. Understanding the body on an energetic level will improve your body awareness. Trauma can still be stored in the body even after years of utilizing talk therapy modalities. Our chakras can either be blocked or overactive, which may induce anxious and depressive symptoms. Deepening the relationship with the soma is often the missing piece in a person’s healing journey.
